TECH FOR BAD challenges the Big Tech takeover of the humanitarian industry.
Big Tech’s MILITARY AND SURVEILLANCE OBJECTIVES are at odds with the UN Charter and humanitarian principles and yet, Big Aid – Big Tech partnerships, are only DEEPENING.
The UN and wider aid sector risk:
- Providing US military contractors access to sensitive data.
- “Aid washing” complicit Big Tech companies.
- Putting people in need at risk of harm.
Tech for Bad is an autonomous initiative that seeks to question the deepening relationships between the aid sector and Big Tech.
TECH FOR BAD is run by volunteers that work, or have previously worked in the aid sector in roles such as research, communications and policy.
Our aim is to steadily build awareness by sharing well researched and credible information. Our foremost focus is the partnership between Palantir and the UN´s World Food Programme.
We welcome the support (time, expertise, financial), collaboration and feedback of individuals, groups and organisations.
